Some International Networks, Regional Communities and Organisations
The last few years has seen considerable growth in the development of local and regional adventure therapy networks and cross-cultural initiatives. Below are some examples.
Australian Association of Bush Adventure Therapy (AABAT)
The European Strategic Partnership
This is a relatively new initiative (as of 2016) and consists of the main players in adventure therapy in Europe. This group organises the GATE conferences (Gathering for Adventure Therapy in Europe).

Denmark – Adventure Therapy DK
”Adventure Therapy Denmark” is a network for interested professionals in the field of Adventure Therapy and the Danish understanding of the term. Adventure Therapy focuses on the use of the great outdoors (the Danish term: friluftslivet) in a therapeutic and challenging way. A number of professionals such as social workers, nature guides, teachers, scout leaders etc. have long since used the great outdoors of Denmark in their work with children, adolescents and adults. The outdoors as a therapeutic frame is not widespread in Denmark something this network can hopefully change.
