Call for Presentations

Second Round of Abstracts are now CLOSED.

Over the years, International Adventure Therapy Conferences have focused on connecting and consolidating our global field of practice through face to face conversations, high quality presentations, and experiences of adventure therapy in action. Past conferences have led to greater depth, coherence and quality in the international field of adventure therapy.

The 8IATC is ‘expanding the circles’ to build links with allied fields such as social work, youth justice, programs for and by first peoples, psychology, occupational therapy, psychotherapy and of course many more. We encourage all practitioners, researchers, policy-makers and professionals from allied fields to come, share and learn together.

Thinking of presenting at the 8IATC? Submit your Abstract early to avoid disappointment…

To ensure high quality presentations, all 8IATC presenters are required to submit an ‘expression of interest to present’ in the form of an initial Abstract. Abstracts will be reviewed by an international group of reviewers, and presenters will be notified of the success (or otherwise) of their submission well in advance of the conference.

Once accepted, oral presenters will need to submit an Extended Abstract for inclusion in the 8IATC Proceedings. Delegates will receive the full set of Abstracts in electronic or hard copy format upon arrival at the 8IATC.

All potential presenters need to register and pay for their attendance at the 8IATC. We encourage potential presenters to make the most of discounted fees by registering and paying for their attendance as early as possible.

We ask that presenters consider the best means of conveying their messages (e.g. interactive workshop, experiential workshop, didactic presentation, poster) and align it with a conference theme (see below).

Presenters who are selected to share their ideas and work at the 8IATC will need to submit an Extended Abstract of their presentation (approx. 1500 words) for inclusion in the 8IATC Proceedings, which will be available to delegates at the conference. Presenters can also choose to further prepare a full paper of their presentation for publication in one of a range of professional journals that have offered their support to the conference.

Process for Presentation Selection and Publication
